New York Times Union Holds 24-hour Strike in 40 years

More than 1.100 journalists who are members of the Union at the New York Times, have gone on a 24-hour strike on Thursday, December 8 in the first mass walkout at the newspaper in 40 years.

“Negotiators for the company and the union, which represents most of the newsroom, have failed to come to an agreement on salaries, health and retirement benefits, and other issues.

Reporters and editors at The New York Times began a one-day strike on Thursday 12/08, saying talks between their union and the company had dragged on and showed limited progress.”
