The Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF) Paideia Program creates and supports opportunities for the Penn community to learn about dialogue, from dialogue, and how to engage in dialogue, all toward the goal of individual and societal wellness. Through SNF Paideia-designated courses, a Fellows program, resources, events, and initiatives, the program contributes to Penn’s diverse dialogue landscape. Encompassing a wide range of practices, SNF Paideia’s dialogue work emphasizes intentionality, curiosity, humility, and community as its core values.
SNF Paideia encourages meaningful exchange across identities, ideologies, experiences, and histories, and collaborate with partners across campus and beyond to create opportunities for students to engage across difference. Striving to embody the Hellenic concept of paideia, or “education of the whole person,” SNF Paideia helps students develop the knowledge, skills, ethical frameworks, and experiences necessary to serve their communities as resourceful and engaged citizens.
