This project is a short video (10 minutes) that explores the accessibility of people with disabilities to public services and transportation in three regional Greek cities: Thessaloniki, Xanthi, and Kozani.
Through three personal stories—one from each city—the video highlights the daily challenges faced by individuals with disabilities, showcasing both the obstacles they encounter and the positive practices that can serve as models for broader implementation. Each journalist from the team meets with a person with a disability in their city, documenting their personal experience with accessibility in public services, transportation, and urban space more broadly.
The goal of the video is to connect the dots across regional Greece, drawing attention to both the common ground and unique differences between the three cities. Through first-hand narratives and audiovisual storytelling, the short aims to bring to the forefront an issue that affects the daily lives of many citizens, encouraging public dialogue on accessibility and the urgent need for improved infrastructure and policy.
Inclusion is at the core of this research—as well as a core value in their personal research and practice. The pursuit of acceptance, equality, understanding, and appreciation of diversity must become a top priority for every Greek community.
*The short video will soon be published by a Greek local media outlet.
