Those of us who are alive at this moment must be present with our entire being, in order to be able to see, observe, and react in memory of all those who have been lost. This loss should not be remembered with a mere reference to statistics.”

The film, which evolved from the homonymous multimedia project launched by iMEdD in April 2020, unfolds against the backdrop of the public healthcare system and follows the prominent figures at the forefront of the COVID-19 response, as well as the unsung heroes of the pandemic.

Political decisions and backroom maneuvers come under the microscope and are juxtaposed with the struggles of those who bear the brunt of the new crisis on a daily basis. Through the Greek experience, Avgeropoulos manages to capture a universal reality and poses critical questions about the post-Covid era the world is entering.

“Parontes” is an initiative of iMEdD, which consists of different projects with a common element and goal of the immediate recording of Covid-19 disease and its effects on social, health and economic level, but also in every aspect of our lives. The project that initiated during the first lockdown, is evolving in parallel with the spread of the pandemic.
