Journalism comes alive at SNF Nostos 2026: Discover iMEdD’s activities

What does journalism mean in the era of deepfakes, endless scrolling, and algorithms? How can a story do more than just record current events, and truly touch the lives of the people around us?

This year, iMEdD establishes a dynamic presence at SNF Nostos 2026, which celebrates the 30th anniversary of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation’s (SNF) grantmaking journey. As co-curator of the SNF Nostos 2026 program and editorial curator of the SNF Dialogues, iMEdD brings journalism closer to people through conversations, on spot reporting, and a welcoming open space.

Read the note from Anna Kynthia Bousdoukou, iMEdD Co-Founder and Non-Executive Head of Steering Committee, SNF Dialogues Initiative Executive Director on the occasion of the SNF Nostos 2026

Here is a look at what we have prepared and how you can get involved:

iMEdD Station: An open space for journalism

📅 June 21-28  | 🕒 09:00 – 22:00  | 📍 GNO Foyer (Greek National Opera)

For an entire week, the foyer of the Greek National Opera will be transformed into a vibrant hub of collaboration, storytelling, and journalistic creation. There, you will have the opportunity to meet the iMEdD team in person, engage with their work and community.

  • In collaboration with the Radio Workshop, a fully-equipped radio studio is being set up. Twelve young reporters from Africa will broadcast live each day, and ten students from four Greek universities will cover the festival’s stories, activities, and key figures through video reporting, turning SNF Nostos into a real-world field for hands-on training.
  • Want to understand Artificial Intelligence and its impact on society in a completely different way? Tactical Tech presents an interactive installation that serves up knowledge about AI in the form of… cocktails!

From Volume to Value: Marina Walker Guevara in conversation with Anna Kynthia Bousdoukou

📅 June 22 | 🕒 12:00 – 12:15 | 📍 NLG Lobby (National Library of Greece)

What do journalists talk about, when they talk among themselves? What keeps them up at night, in their efforts to maintain journalism as a force of change and a pillar of our societies? Have they settled the debate on objectivity? Will they be replaced by chatbots?

In this brief and dynamic exchange, Pulitzer Center’s Executive Editor Marina Walker Guevara and iMEdD Co-Founder and Head, Anna Kynthia Bousdoukou, ask each other existential questions, raise challenges and ponder solutions, always with the public interest in mind.

Live Journalism: Reporting takes the stage!

📅 June 22 | 🕒 12:15 – 13:00 | 📍 NLG Lobby (National Library of Greece)

How do we win back the public’s lost trust? The answer lies in the power of storytelling. In collaboration with Live Magazine, iMEdD is bringing the groundbreaking format of live journalism to Greece, where investigative reports are transformed into a “theatrical” experience.

Three investigative stories come to life on stage:

The Burden of “Perfection”: The gripping story of children born under a Nazi program who still live with this legacy today.

The Instagram Generation: An insightful look into how social media is changing the way we travel, take photos, and ultimately perceive the world.

The Great Wine Fraud: The fascinating rise and fall of a charismatic con artist who managed to dupe the global luxury wine market.

The SNF Dialogues Initiative return in SNF Nostos, opening the discussion on the concept of Ethos in three different formats:

  • fishbowl conversation entitled “Is Ethos still part of our human identity?”, in collaboration with Simon Fraser University’s Centre for Dialogue, and with the vital participation of the SNF Nostos 2026 Youth Advisory Committee.
  • Four keynote sessions featuring comedian Katerina Vrana, professor Dr. Phoebe Koundouri, sociologist-criminologist Gerasimos Papanastasatos, and the director of the digital society program at Chatham House, Alex Krasodomski-Jones, exploring topics ranging from climate change and emerging technologies to addiction and the power of comedy.
  • An exclusive one-on-one conversation between Anna Kynthia Bousdoukou and Jean-Michel Jarre, entitled “SNF Dialogues: Arts and humanity in the era of AI” kicking off the SNF Nostos.

We look forward to seeing you at SNF Nostos 2026 to listen, discuss, and see journalism… from a whole new perspective!
