iMEdD International Journalism Forum 2023: 28-30 September, Peiraios 260

The International Journalism Forum, an iMEdD (incubator for Media Education and Development) initiative for the annual meeting of the journalism community in Athens, will be held from September 28 to 30 at The Athens Festival venue, located at 260 Peiraios Street, Athens.

Building on the success of last year’s event, which brought together over 1000 media professionals, journalism students, 120 speakers, and 30 international organizations, the International Journalism Forum 2023 will offer a range of engaging activities, including talks, workshops, open discussions, and various other interactive sessions that delve into the pressing issues and trends shaping the journalism landscape worldwide. The ultimate goal is for participants to depart from the forum equipped with enhanced knowledge, broader networks, and a renewed sense of inspiration, ready to implement new ideas and practices in their professional endeavors.

The three-day Forum will focus, among other things, on press freedom across different parts of the world, the opportunities and challenges posed by artificial intelligence, new methods and tools in data journalism, reporting on the climate crisis, corruption, war, and the ways in which modern partnership models and innovative sustainability schemes can promote media independence and reshape the media landscape.

At the same time, the Media Village will once again serve as a platform for independent media and journalism organizations, providing them with the opportunity to showcase their work and vision through special sessions.

Registration for the event opens in June. Stay tuned for forthcoming announcements regarding the detailed program, esteemed speakers, and additional information about the event, which will be shared on the official website:
