The iMEdD International Journalism Forum returns to Athens from September 25 to 27, 2025, for its seventh edition at the Athens Epidaurus Festival venue, 260 Piraeus Street — and registrations are now open.
Under the theme “Navigating the Age of Doubt,” this year’s Forum invites journalists, editors, students, and media professionals from around the world to reflect on journalism’s role in a time of uncertainty, fragmentation, and contested truths. Across three full days, the Forum will offer a space for critical dialogue, practical workshops, and shared exploration of what journalism can be— and what’s ahead.
Now in its seventh year, the Forum returns with more energy, more spaces, and even more opportunities to connect. Last year’s edition welcomed over 1,000 participants and 128 speakers from more than 30 countries, across 62 sessions. Topics ranged from open-source investigations and ethical AI, to climate reporting, podcast storytelling, and strategies to rebuild trust in news. A group of journalism students from 12 universities covered the Forum live, adding a fresh and engaged voice to the experience.
This year’s program will feature a wide range of sessions, including panels, talks, and hands-on workshops. The Media Village will once again be a hub for conversation and collaboration, while the UNCOVERED Conference by the Investigative Journalism for Europe (IJ4EU) consortium returns with a focus on cross-border investigative journalism. Please note: Separate registration is required for UNCOVERED. Further info will be provided soon.
We will also be hosting a number of partner-led sessions and working meetings designed for deeper engagement and peer exchange. These invite-only gatherings—organized by networks like the European Press Prize, the European Data Journalism Network (EDJNet) and the Reference Circle, reflect the Forum’s growing role as a space where journalism’s most vital conversations happen, both on stage and behind the scenes.
This year’s program is shaped in large part by the journalism community itself.
Following an open call for ideas earlier this year, many of the sessions you’ll see on the agenda have come directly from proposals submitted by individuals and teams working on the ground. The full program will be announced in the coming weeks.
