iMEdD (Incubator for Media Education and Development) is seeking to fill a journalist position in the editorial team (iMEdD Content) of the Organization’s Programs Department. The mission of this journalistic role is the production and editing of content that is relevant, useful, or insightful for the journalistic community worldwide.
The ideal candidate will be able to identify cutting-edge resources and topics for the journalism world internationally, pitch relevant pieces, produce and edit content in various formats, and translate material, while working closely with the rest of the Content/Programs team. They will be an integral part of a digital publication for resources and stories addressed to the international journalism community, featuring the most up-to-date topics, best practices and the most modern professional tools.
Key Responsibilities
- Finding and producing content such as:
- Features on issues currently concerning the journalism world and representing modern developments in the field
- Interviews
- Presentations of case studies, training programs, and methodologies of journalistic investigation
- Production, editing, or presentation/showcasing of resources such as:
- Tutorials, How-to articles, Guides, Datasets, Tools etc.
- Translation and editing of translated texts
- Coordination and collaboration with the communications team to adapt content for different channels and to promote/showcase it through them (social media, newsletters, etc.)
Candidate Profile
Required qualifications:
- Previous professional journalistic experience
- Knowledge of and genuine interest in cutting-edge issues in international journalism today (e.g., artificial intelligence, data collection and analysis, vibe coding, use of OSINT for journalistic investigation, new business models, etc.)
- Excellent command of Greek (written and oral), strong journalistic writing skills, and storytelling ability
- Very good command of English (written and oral)
- Ease in writing and editing various types of text
- Familiarity with digital content production and management tools (CMS, collaborative docs, spreadsheets, online visualization tools, etc.)
- Familiarity with the broader international journalism ecosystem and independent organizations
Desirable qualifications (highly valued):
- Knowledge and use of data journalism techniques
- A proven focus on investigative journalism
- Familiarity with modern techniques and tools useful in journalistic investigation (e.g., satellite image analysis, mapping software, etc.)
- Ability to produce and/or edit multimedia content (audio, video, graphics)
- Any experience in independent and/or non-profit media/journalistic environments
- Ability to collaborate with developers or other technology-focused roles if needed
Soft skills:
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage time and multiple parallel tasks
- Adaptability and comfort working in a fast-evolving environment
