The European Press Prize has announced the winners for its 2023 edition, honoring outstanding European journalism that reflected significant events impacting Europe and the world.
This year, the Prize awarded the Migration Journalism category for the first time and dedicated its Special Award to coverage of the Ukraine war.
The winning works covered a range of topics, including migration crises, environmental emergencies and conflicts.

For its 2023 edition, the European Press Prize partnered up with the ZEG Storytelling Festival, a festival of storytelling and journalism organised in Tbilisi by Coda Story and Impact Hub Tbilisi.

The European Press Prize aims to recognize excellence in European journalism and promote transparent, independent reporting on critical issues, and it is supported by various foundations that aim to promote quality journalism in Europe.
The European Press Prize is awarded on a yearly basis in 5 categories: Distinguished Reporting, Innovation, Public Discourse, Investigative Reporting, and Migration Journalism. The Panel of Judges also awards a Special Award to journalism that defies categories and disciplines. Each award is worth €10,000.
